Subra V. Subramaniam, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
A successful and well established business executive and entrepreneur, specialized in international business, primarily in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Subramaniam’s wide industry expertise ranges in strategic planning, establishment of strategic partnership/joint ventures, business development, government relations, operations management, besides general management. He has proven experience and expertise in the upstream oil and gas business, besides being well-versed with the nuances of the mid-stream and down-stream activities of the oil industry. Mr. Subramaniam has a proven track record of having established and successfully managed various start-up operations, and in identifying and implementing growth oriented projects and activities. The start-up operations that he was involved in include Aban Offshore, Command Petroleum, Cairn Energy, Canoro Resources Ltd., Pan Orient Energy Corp., amongst others.
Mr. Subramaniam is a Commerce Graduate with Honors, from the University of Delhi in India and has over 28 years experience in the Indian and international oil and gas industry.
Brian Hearst, Chief Financial Officer
A Chartered Accountant (CA) with over 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry, including 15 years as Chief Financial Officer of junior public companies, with both international and domestic operations. Mr. Hearst is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. Mr. Hearst has had extensive experience managing and overseeing start up, financial, internal control, continuous disclosure and operating activities in India, Colombia and Brazil. His experiences include dealings with the ANH and ANP, inter-listing on the TSX and Colombia Stock Exchange, capital raising activities, establishing international and local banking relationships, tax planning, and setting up offshore structures. He has also worked extensively in India in dealing with the Regulatory Authorities and Joint Venture partners besides establishing financial and reporting systems for India operations. Mr. Hearst is also a director of Gold Royalties Corp., a private Alberta company with investments in royalties in junior Canadian mining companies.
Paul Smolarchuk, Technical & Operations Advisor
A reservoir and operations engineer, with over 30 years experience, has intricate knowledge of planning and implementing technical operations in tight reservoirs and all aspects of unconventional resource plays. He has worked with (Gas Research Institute (GRI), Alberta Research Corporation (ARC) and is with Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. (CSRI).
Mr. Smolarchuk is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Chemical Technology and of the University of Alberta with a B.Sc. (Eng) in Petroleum Engineering.
Sam Charanek, Advisor to the Board of Directors
Has over 12 years of experience in Corporate Finance and Planning and has been instrumental in the creation of several companies including, Pan Orient Energy, Canacol, Petrodorado, Excelsior Energy, Sagres Energy and Mena Hydrocarbons, to name a few. Mr. Charanek’s role is valuable in assisting the Company in its Corporate Finance requirements bringing in his rich experience and successful track record in the international oil & gas sector.
Venu Gopal Narayanan, Country Manager-India
A reservoir engineer, educated in India and Norway, has diverse experience in executing projects covering the gamut in problem well analysis, reservoir characterization, estimation of reserves, field development applications and such other specialized activities. A significant portion of his career has been spent in designing and applying reservoir management processes to hydrocarbon assets, for production and recovery enhancement. He has also played nodal roles in the evaluation and acquisition of both producing assets and exploration acreages, for clients internationally. His experience covers a number of sedimentary basins and his areas of interest include advanced pressure and rate transient analysis, and project management.
Babu Varghese, Operations Manager – India
A specialist in production operations and field project management, he has operated and managed various small to medium sized oil & gas fields and has in depth knowledge of the producing fields in India. The last 15 years of his career he has been focussed on field operations within the Cambay Basin, in Gujarat, India.
